Health Advocacy Innovations is a global non-profit dedicated to removing barriers to global access to health care. Its focus is on pediatric multidrug-resistant TB treatment. No medications for children exist, which means that doctors and nurses must cut adult pills by hand for each child's dosage. This is inefficient and inaccurate. The firm designed a device to address this failure in treatment. Its work was recently presented at the Union World Conference on Lung Health in Cape Town. The firm's supporters and partners include USAID, Partners in Health, and TB Alliance. This Boston-based firm will work with Partners in Health and Harvard Medical School for its pilot implementations in Peru and in Pakistan this year.
