WESTBOROUGH – The Massachusetts eHealth Institute at MassTech (MeHI) has awarded new grants from the Digital Health Sandbox program to support three Massachusetts startups to test and validate their products and services at three different sandbox environments across Massachusetts. These three awards, totaling $105,500, will allow Lexington-based Keva Health, Cambridge’s Dynocardia, and Boston’s caresyntax to access the cutting-edge tools and staff at three innovative Sandbox R&D centers located in Massachusetts.

MassChallenge HealthTech accelerates innovation in the healthcare industry by connecting later-stage, digital health startups with industry champions to address some of our greatest healthcare challenges. WORCESTER — Governor Baker today announced a new grant program as part of the Administration’s Digital Health Initiative that will provide $500,000 in funding to open doors for healthcare technology startups to access research and development “sandboxes.” Governor Baker made the announcement during a visit with Digital Health Council members at WPI’s PracticePoint, one of the facilities supported by the program, where healthcare startups will be able to test existing technologies and develop new products and services.

BOSTON – Today the Massachusetts eHealth Institute at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MeHI) hosted an event to launch a new research report undertaken by the MassINC Polling Group focused on the attitudes of caregivers in Massachusetts toward digital health technologies, identifying challenges faced by these caregivers and ways that they could benefit practically and emotionally from future technologies. The report, “Caregivers and Digital Health: A Survey of Trends and Attitudes of Massachusetts Family Caregivers,” found that over 60 percent of those surveyed said being a caregiver disrupts their lives “a great deal” or a “fair amount,” with many feeling isolated due to the constant 24/7/365 stress of that lifestyle, and also found that digital health technologies could assist with certain challenges.
