A Conversation with PracticePoint at WPI
MeHI Director Laurance Stuntz recently sat down with Christopher Nycz, Research Scientist at PracticePoint, to discuss PracticePoint’s capabilities, their role as a member of the Sandbox Network, and the opportunities for digital health companies.
PracticePoint is one of the nine sandboxes in the Massachusetts Digital Health Network and is WPI’s membership-based healthcare development and testing facility located in Worcester’s Gateway Park. It’s a place to advance healthcare technologies and launch new medical, cyber, and physical systems. Partners do this through collaboration with WPI’s extensive network of faculty experts and colleagues. The facility itself includes fully equipped medical and home care spaces with additional equipment that allows researchers to study how best to deliver that care. Here you will find a fully instrumented living space, a state-of-the-art motion capture lab, a 2-bed modular patient care suite, MRI imaging, and a fully functional operating room co-located with advanced manufacturing capabilities.
