AI holds promise to positively impact healthcare by creating clinical and administrative workflow efficiencies, supporting disease prevention and early disease diagnosis, and automating treatment and patient monitoring to improve care delivery. When digital health companies, researchers, developers, and health providers build or employ AI they must ensure these solutions will benefit a wide range of patient populations.
To help inform the community, MeHI and HealthTech Build hosted an expert panel in mid-January that tackled ongoing policy discussions and the implications in both the U.S. and E.U. The webinar also explored the considerations for both developers and users of healthcare AI tools and systems, particularly how these solutions can promote health equity rather than contribute to health disparities among particular ethnic and racial groups.
